Vol. 537 No. 5

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Liam Aylward

Question:

593 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science if approval for a transport grant has issued to the parents of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [17194/01]

Transport grants, which are based on distance from home to school and on the level of the child's attendance at school, are paid at the end of each school year when data on the child's attendance is available.

Application for payment of such grants is made to my Department at the end of each school year by the school principal. Once these data are received, my Department will issue a payment in the case in question.
