Vol. 537 No. 5

Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

594 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received an application from a school (details supplied) in County Meath for improvements; if a report has been carried out on the condition of the school; his views on whether this school is in a deplorable condition; the number of pupils attending the school, when repairs were last carried out; if a meeting can be arranged with the building unit of his Department and the Board of Management of the school in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17209/01]

In view of the very large number of school building projects being dealt with by my Department at present and the priority to be afforded to such projects, it is not possible at this point to provide a timescale as to when improved permanent accommodation will be provided at the school referred to by the Deputy. The matter will be kept under review.
