604 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the recent progress regarding the provision of extra facilities required at Sallins national school, Sallins, County Kildare; when it is expected that the works involved will be put in hand; if this will be in time to meet the requirements of the new school year; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17306/01]

Architectural planning is progressing for the provision of additional permanent accommodation at Sallins National School, Sallins, County Kildare. However, it is not possible at this stage to give any indication as to the timetable for the provision of the accommodation.

The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.
