Vol. 538 No. 1

Written Answers. - Residency Permits.

John McGuinness

Question:

207 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will issue a formal decision in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who is anxious to take up a course at Carlow Institute of Technology. [17412/01]

An application has been received from the person in question for permission to remain in the State on the basis of his marriage to an Irish national. My Department will shortly be in touch with the applicant seeking additional supporting documentation in order to process the application. All applications of this nature are dealt with in chronological order and on this basis it is likely to be a number of months before the case is finalised.
