213 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will sanction funding for St. Patrick's infants national school, Gardiner's Hill, Cork, to renovate and equip three additional rooms as well as provide a grant of £6,000 for educational equipment, £3,000 for furniture and £8,000 for the renovation of rooms, so that the appointment of a third teacher under the even break scheme can be maximised. 217 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the inadequate sanitary facilities in St. Patrick's infant national school, Gardiner's Hill, Cork; and if he will make the necessary funds available to replace the facilities which will ensure a healthy and safe environment for the children. [17348/01]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 213 and 217 together.

I can confirm that my Department has received an application from the management authorities of St. Patrick's infant national school, Gardiner's Hill, Cork for grant aid towards the cost of improved facilities. The application is one of a large volume of applications on hand within my Department and it will be processed as quickly as possible. The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.
