Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Fitzgerald – the serious situation regarding the European Youth Olympics which has resulted in the Irish track and field team being dropped from participation; (2) Deputy McCormack – the matter of the regulations governing the payment of rent allowance by health boards; (3) Deputy Brendan Smith – the discrimination against a member of An Garda Síochána in relation to the assignment of duties; (4) Deputy Dukes – the need to postpone the final date for the submission of applications for suckler cow premium by two weeks; (5) Deputy Neville – the cost of motor insurance for young drivers; (6) Deputy Ring – the need to sanction funding for the extension of a primary school (details supplied) in County Mayo; (7) Deputy Enright – the failure of the Midland Health Board to pay the maximum rate of dependency of the nursing home subvention to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly; (8) Deputy Power – the need to change the system of compulsory purchase orders and provide proper compensation to landowners and property owners; and (9) Deputy Stanton – the question of a permanent berth for the naval ship LE Deirdre and its use as a naval and maritime museum.

The matters raised by Deputies Neville, Ring, Dukes and Brendan Smith have been selected for discussion.
