International Agreements: Motion.

I move:

That–

(i)the proposal that Dáil Éireann approve the terms of the Protocol relating to the Madrid Agreement concerning the International Registration of Marks, adopted at Madrid on 27 June 1989 (known as the Madrid Protocol), be referred to the Select Committee on Enterprise and Small Business, in accordance with paragraph (1)(a)(iii) of the Orders of Reference of that Committee; and

(ii)the proposal that Dáil Éireann approve the Draft Regulations entitled Trade Marks (Madrid Protocol) Regulations, 2001, be referred to the Joint Committee on Enterprise and Small Business, in accordance with paragraph (2)(a)(iv) of the Orders of Reference of that Committee, and that each such Committee shall, not later than 27th June 2001, send a message to the Dáil in the manner prescribed in Standing Order 79B, and Standing Order 79A(2) shall accordingly apply.
