Vol. 538 No. 2

Written Answers. - Farm Retirement Scheme.

John Perry

Question:

72 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Sligo has not yet received an early retirement pension; if he will intervene on his behalf and have it immediately processed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17535/01]

The application in this case was incomplete when submitted and the person named had to provide additional material subsequently. The application was also selected for pre-payment inspection, which has now taken place. There are a number of issues remaining, however, that must be resolved before a final decision can be taken in his case. My Department has written to the person named and on receipt of his response his application will be dealt with without delay. If his application is accepted, the commencement date of his pension will not be affected by the time taken to process it.
