Vol. 538 No. 3

Written Answers. - Installation Aid Scheme.

Willie Penrose

Question:

165 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will ensure that an application for installation aid by a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath is immediately processed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17987/01]

Under the terms and conditions of the national scheme of installation aid, an applicant must be first set up in farming on or after 1 January 1995 and fulfil the occupational skill and competence requirements at the date of setting up in farming, or at the latest, within two years from that date. As the applicant named was set up in farming in 1992 and did not achieve the standard of skill and competence until 2000 his application is deemed ineligible under the terms and conditions of the scheme.
