206 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will make a statement on the circumstances in which the first phase of a major programme in general practice for the secondary prevention of cardiac disease appears to have stalled over contentious issues and that the pilot project for 2001 has yet to be commenced. A steering committee was established in January of this year to develop the first phase of a progamme of structured care in general practice. The work of this group is progressing but is not yet complete. However, the first phase of the programme is expected to commence later this year.
