Vol. 538 No. 3

Written Answers. - Consultant Appointments.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

227 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the action he proposes to take to ensure an early consultant's appointment for a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17967/01]

The Deputy will appreciate that the scheduling of hospital appointments is a matter for the relevant hospital concerned based upon clinical priority.

I have asked the chief executive officer at the South-Eastern Health Board, who has responsibility for the provision of hospital services in the case to which the Deputy is referring, to look into the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

Questions Nos. 228 and 229 answered with Question No. 186.
