Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Question:

326 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 570 of 12 June 2001, his attention has been drawn to the serious problems of ownership and access to land for the site of the classrooms; and if he will ensure that progress is made as soon as possible. [17932/01]

My Department has been in consultation with South Dublin County Council regarding the issues referred to by the Deputy.

The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.

Dick Spring

Question:

327 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Education and Science his views on the proposal recently submitted to his Department for the establishment of the Tralee multi-denominational school project; and the support his Department will give to this proposed primary school. [17942/01]

The committee of the Tralee multi-denominational school project has indicated to my Department its intention to make a formal application, in due course, to establish a new primary school. In the meantime, staff of the planning section are available to assist the committee with any queries they may have in completing their application and will also advise in relation to grants available to new schools.
