Vol. 538 No. 5

Written Answers. - Industrial Relations.

Michael Ring

Question:

111 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if his attention has been drawn to the industrial dispute which has resulted in no processing or farm visits for new applications for national development plan schemes in Mayo; the progress which has been made with the technical staff in resolving this dispute; and the number of farmers affected. [18391/01]

I am aware of the problem that has arisen with the refusal of the technical staff to implement the detailed procedures set down by my Department for the processing of applications for national development plan schemes. My Department is in contact with the IMPACT union to try to resolve the difficulty that has arisen. There are 1,500 applications countrywide affected.
