Vol. 539 No. 2

Written Answers. - Overseas Legal Proceedings.

Jack Wall

Question:

65 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the progress made in relation to meeting expenses being incurred by persons due to a court case involving a family member overseas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19252/01]

As soon as independent corroboration of the family's circumstances, which is to be supplied by another public authority, is received, my Department will seek the approval of the Department of Finance for the payment of a special grant to defray the exceptionally large expenses arising in this very unusual case.
