Vol. 539 No. 2

Written Answers. - Revenue Commissioners Report.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

34 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Finance when it is expected that the final report of the Revenue Partnership Intensive Group on the Shadow Economy will be finalised; if it is intended to publish the report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19048/01]

As I informed the House in response to parliamentary questions raised earlier this year, I am advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the draft report required consultation with Revenue's business areas and further discussion by Revenue's partnership committee. The process is ongoing and the draft report will come before the partnership committee at its meeting on 9 July 2001. It is not possible to say at this stage when the committee will be in a position to finalise its deliberations. The question of the publication of the report is an issue which has yet to be considered by the partnership committee.
