Vol. 539 No. 3

Written Answers. - Mobility Management Plans.

Question:

99 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the steps he has taken to implement the mobility management plans for staff commuting to their departments; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19452/01]

My Department has only recently received the mobility management plans circulated by the Dublin Transportation Office. The plans are aimed at promoting measures for managing transport demand. The different approaches outlined will vary in detail from organisation to organisation.

A number of steps have already been taken by my Department to aid mobility management which include provision of a secure lock up area for bicycles and shower facilities for staff, along with the extension of the flexible working time band.

My Department is fully committed to any scheme which makes it easier for staff to commute to work. When the report has been examined in more detail my Department will consider the various further options available to it.
