Vol. 539 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ulick Burke

Question:

120 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when it is proposed to make a payment of outstanding livestock grants for the year 2000 to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and the reason for the delay in payment in this case. [19442/01]

The person named was paid his full entitlement of £2,800.41 under the 2000 suckler cow scheme, on 27 June 2001. No applications under the 2000 sheep headage scheme, equine headage scheme and goat headage scheme were received from the person named. He was paid £297.28 under the 2000 cattle headage scheme on 7 March 2001, after overpayments under the 1999 extensification scheme and the 2000 ewe premium scheme amounting to £1,661.72 were offset from the total due.

The person named applied for special beef premium on 15 animals in November 2000. Payment was delayed due to an area aid over-declaration issue that has recently been resolved. Payment of £1345.12 has issued today in respect of special beef premium for 14 animals. Premium was not paid in respect of the one remaining animal as it did not meet the age criteria at the time of application.

Eligibility under the slaughter premium 2000 scheme, has been established in respect of six animals, three of which were beef breed heifers entitled to the national envelope top-up. After overpayment amounts have been offset from the total due, £122.67 for slaughter premium and £56.23 for national envelope, payments of £20.63 slaughter premium and £13.03 national envelope have issued.

The person named cannot be considered for payment of 2000 extensification premium as he failed to return form CEN.2 relating to the fourth and fifth census dates of Sunday, 24 September and Sunday, 19 November 2000.
