Vol. 539 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Staff.

David Stanton

Question:

134 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received a communication from the Irish Medical Organisation seeking the appointment of extra staff at Mallow General Hospital, County Cork; the action he will take on the matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19410/01]

I am not aware of the communication from the Irish Medical Council regarding the need to appoint extra staff at Mallow General Hospital.

The appointment of staff at Mallow General Hospital is a matter for the Southern Health Board in the first instance and any proposal for additional staff will be considered by the board as part of the competing priorities in 2001.
