Question:

166 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the details of the scheme of the £10,000 grant designed to assist people in the building and buying of a house for their disabled needs. [19467/01]

Under the disabled persons grant scheme, a grant of up to 90% of the cost of works or £10,000, whichever is the lesser, has been introduced to assist disabled persons in making necessary modifications to a new house, where works commenced to the house on or after 6 December 2000. The scheme is administered by local authorities and further details and application forms are available from the relevant local authority.
