Vol. 539 No. 3

Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

Question:

193 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 311 of 19 June 2001, he will indicate when approval will be given for the payment of a grant for improvement works at the school in question. [19472/01]

My Department has received an application from the management authorities of the school referred to by the Deputy for grant-aid towards improvement works.

In view of the large number of school building projects currently being dealt with by my Department, it is not possible at this point to say what the extent of the improvement works will be or to give an indication as to the timescale for the provision of the improved facilities.

However, the matter will be kept under review and the school authorities will be kept informed of developments.
