Vol. 540 No. 2

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.

Jackie Healy-Rae

Question:

131 Mr. Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider placing the marketing department of the Department of Tourism, Sport and Recreation in south Kerry in the forthcoming decentralisation plan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20295/01]

The Cabinet Sub-committee on Decentralisation is currently considering all of the issues relating to a new programme of decentralisation, including the Departments-offices which will be included in the programme as well as the centres to which they will be relocated. In that regard consideration can be given to the Deputy's suggestion. No decisions have yet been taken. I intend that the Government will be in a position to take a decision in relation to the new programme within the next couple of months.
