Question:

141 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will approve proposals submitted to his Department by the South Eastern Health Board for the provision of acute medical beds in the third ward in the Orthopaedic Hospital, Kilcreene, Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20242/01]

Proposals have been made to my Department in relation to St. Joseph's ward in the Orthopaedic Hospital, Kilcreene. These proposals are being considered in the context of available resources and the priority accorded to it by the board.
