Vol. 540 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospitals Building Programme.

Michael Ring

Question:

167 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding provision of a new day resource centre, social housing and respite and enterprise units at a site in Belmullet, County Mayo, secured by the Irish Wheelchair Association; if progress on this project has been made; if funding has been allocated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20362/01]

As previously advised to the Deputy on 27 March, the provision of health related services, including day and respite services, is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board with a request that she examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy, as a matter of urgency.

Social housing and enterprise units are matters for the Department of the Environment and Local Government and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment respectively.
