Vol. 540 No. 2

Written Answers. - Smoking Prevention.

Question:

168 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 259 of 26 June 2001, he will state the action he will take against a company (details supplied) for daily breaches of smoking regulations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20365/01]

Compliance with non-smoking regulations by members of the public and staff on Dublin Bus services is primarily a matter for the company concerned. I have written to the Eastern Regional Health Authority asking them to contact Dublin Bus to see if they can be of assistance with its monitoring initiative in this area.
