I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Spring – the urgent need for the provision of funding to the Ceoil Chiarraí project at Ballybunion, County Kerry; (2) Deputy Sargent – the need to guarantee the quality of life of a person (details supplied) who has extensive medical needs; (3) Deputy Dukes – the need to bring into effect a provision in the Finance Bill, 2000, providing for targeted relief for the purchase of milk quota; (4) Deputy Crawford – the need to reassess the needs of the Garda Síochána in the Border region in light of the renewed threats from terrorist organisations; (5) Deputy Ulick Burke – the need to confirm to the La Sainte Union secondary school that their schedule of grant aided teaching posts between now and the proposed amalgamation will remain as it was for 2000-01; (6) Deputy Connaughton – the breakdown in negotiations between the Western Health Board and the owners of the Bon Secours Hospital in Tuam, County Galway, concerning the sale of the hospital and adjoining land for use as a community hospital; (7) Deputy Coveney – the need to provide for a new garda station in Carrigaline, County Cork, to replace the existing inadequate station; (8) Deputy Gerard Reynolds – the need to make a statement on the exploration for gas in the Cavan-Leitrim area, and whether the Government proposes to provide a gas turbine generator station in the region if a major find is confirmed; (9) Deputy Neville – the issue of free nursing home care to medical card holders; (10) Deputy Seán Ryan – the need for the retention of the 13th post, repairs to the existing buildings and a permanent extension for St. Theresa's national school, Balbriggan, County Dublin; (11) Deputy Ring – the position on the upgrading of the railway line from Westport to Dublin; (12) Deputy Deenihan – the need to provide funding for the Tintéain project, Ballybunion, County Kerry; (13) Deputy Rabbitte – the urgent need for measures to deal with the situation whereby some 8,000 motorcyclists and 1,000 classic car drivers who had taken out insurance from the British company, Independent Insurance, through the Irish Intermediary, Carole Nash, have been advised following the collapse of the British company that, while they may still legally drive their vehicles, sufficient funds were not available to meet any claims; (14) Deputy Penrose – the urgent need for clarification regarding the prohibition on onward movement of animals under section 3(3) of the Diseases of Animals (Amendment) Act, 2001; (15) Deputies Hogan and Creed – the need to explain the circumstances surrounding the arbitrary dismissal of seven estate officers; (16) Deputy Broughan – the urgent necessity to create a new traffic police force given the widespread failure to implement traffic regulations such as the three tonne limit and speed limits in Dublin city and throughout Ireland; (17) Deputy Ó Caoláin – the need to explain the full implications of ENFOPOL 98 which gives police and intelligence agencies across the EU the right to tap and retain records of all mobile phone calls and e-mail communications and (18) Deputy Tom Hayes – the decentralisation of Government offices to south Tipperary.
