Vol. 540 No. 2

Written Answers. - Animal Movements.

Billy Timmins

Question:

117 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will lift the restriction on grazing on the lands belonging to the Department of Defence at the Glen of Imaal, County Wicklow. [20366/01]

Recently I introduced new regulations dealing with control on the movement of sheep under the provisions of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966. Grazing of sheep in the Glen of Imaal, and at other locations under the control of the Department of Defence, is permitted to resume subject to compliance with the conditions laid down in the new regulations.
