Vol. 540 No. 3

Written Answers. - Maternity Services.

Noel Ahern

Question:

178 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on delays in Dublin maternity hospitals for pre-natal checks; if adequate checks are being provided; if additional scanning machines will be provided in clinics or doctors' surgeries; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20797/01]

Responsibility for the funding of services at public maternity hospitals in Dublin rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
