Question:

184 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health and Children the proportion of all babies admitted to neo-natal intensive care in all public, voluntary and private maternity units for each year from 1991 to 2000, inclusive, which were at or over 37 weeks gestation; and the proportion which were at or over 2.5 kilograms. 185 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health and Children the neo-natal rates of admission to intensive care of babies at or over 37 weeks and babies at or over 2.5 kilograms in all public, voluntary and private maternity units for each year from 1991 to 2000 inclusive; the proportion of full-term, normal-weight babies so admitted to intensive care in each hospital, for each year, which were delivered by caesarean section, forceps delivery, and ventouse or vacuum extraction; and, in the case of the full-term, normal weight babies admitted to intensive care and delivered by each of these methods, the proportion of their mothers, respectively who had their labour induced; and the proportion who had their labour augmented.
