324 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he plans to apply increases negotiated by the Teachers Union of Ireland and by the INTO in the benchmarking process to secondary school teachers who are members of the ASTI; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20499/01]
The Public Service Benchmarking Body is required to publish its report by 30 June next. That body will make recommendations on the rates of pay for teachers based on the submissions it receives, the oral hearings and independent research. The recommendations will be applicable to all teachers.
