Vol. 540 No. 3

Written Answers. - National Parks.

Tony Killeen

Question:

30 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands when consultants will be appointed to examine access options to the Burren National Park; if advertisements have been placed for the consultancy; if the terms of reference have been agreed; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [20432/01]

I expect shortly to invite tenders from consultants for an analysis of all the options that may exist throughout the whole north Clare area for the provision of public access to the Burren National Park and for control of that access. Details of the terms of reference have not yet been finalised. An official of my Department recently had a further meeting with officials of Clare County Council to keep them informed of progress in this matter.
