Vol. 541 No. 2

Written Answers. - Health Boards.

Michael Ring

Question:

455 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason Parliamentary Question No. 656 of 30 January 2001 was not replied to until 10 September 2001. [21305/01]

As the Deputy will be aware I provided information from seven health boards in my reply to the Deputy on 30 January 2001 and I undertook to forward information from the Eastern Regional Health Authority – ERHA – when it became available. Following correspondence with the ERHA in January, February, March and April initial data was received from the authority on 25 April 2001 which required clarification. This was received on 28 June 2001. Delays in forwarding the information from my Department to the Deputy were caused by staff shortages during the holiday period. I regret the delay in forwarding the information to the Deputy.
