161 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he has satisfied himself with the appearance and layout of his Department's website; when he most recently inspected the website; the frequency and the most recent date when his website has been updated; the plans he has to improve the website; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department's website is monitored on a regular basis and is frequently updated, most recently on 2 October 2001. An internal web group, representative of all divisions in my Department, meets regularly to oversee any changes in the site's content. This year, the site has been specifically upgraded to meet the criteria established by the World Wide Web Convention, W3C, in its web accessibility initiative. This initiative, aimed at facilitating easier website usage, has particular relevance for the blind and the partially sighted.
