Vol. 541 No. 3

Written Answers. - National Sports Stadium.

Pat Rabbitte

Question:

32 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if his attention has been drawn to calls from the Dublin 15 Community Council for a Luas-type public inquiry into the proposed Stadium-Campus Ireland; if he will establish such an inquiry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22332/01]

I am aware that the Dublin 15 Community Council has called for a public inquiry into the Sports Campus Ireland project. I have also received a copy of the community council submission to High-Point Rendel, the consultants charged with conducting the independent overview of the cost of the project. As I have already indicated in reply to an earlier question, the consultant's report has yet to be submitted to Government for its consideration and decision and therefore any recommendations which may be included in that report on this or other issues have yet to be considered.

Question No. 33 answered with Question No. 8.
