Vol. 541 No. 3

Written Answers. - Work Permits.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

65 Mr. O'Shea asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when she will issue a work permit to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [22693/01]

I am informed by the work permits section of my Department that I do not have any record of receiving an application on behalf of the individual concerned from the company indicated.

The individual had been issued with an unlimited permit to work with a particular employer. However, as he has now changed employer, a new application must be lodged by the new employer. It should be noted that a person working without a work permit is working illegally.
