Vol. 541 No. 5

Written Answers. - Health Board Funding.

Liam Lawlor

Question:

219 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will urgently consult with the responsible health authorities in relation to the condition of the Carmichael Centre in Dublin 7 which is home to many voluntary organisations and where there is an immediate need to undertake a compete electrical rewiring of the premises; if he will seek the release of the funding to carry out these repairs immediately and request an audit of the remaining outstanding works in order that a programme of remedial measures may be agreed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23437/01]

Responsibility for the prioritisation and provision of capital funding to organisations such as the Carmichael Centre in the Dublin area is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority. I have asked the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to investigate the matter and to reply direct to the Deputy.
