Question:

221 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of applications awaiting processing in each health board area under the housing aid for the elderly schemes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23462/01]

This scheme is funded and monitored by the Department of Environment and Local Government. I have been informed that the latest statistical information available to that Department, as at 1 June 2001, indicates the following numbers of applications on hand under the special housing aid scheme for the elderly:

222 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the amount of money made available to the various health boards in 2001 in respect of housing aid for the elderly schemes; his plans to further assist by making extra funding available; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An allocation of £8.658 million under the special housing aid for the elderly scheme was provided in 2001 to the health boards as follows:
