Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Sean Ryan – the proposed purchase of helicopters for the Air Corps; (2) Deputy Creed – the financial losses incurred by farmers under the disadvantaged areas scheme 2001 and the need for an appeal mechanism; (3) Deputy John Bruton – the lack of availability of speech therapists and the problems which arise regarding the co-ordination of their work, training and availability; (4) Deputy Broughan – the need to establish a jobs task force for Clonshaugh and Dublin north side; (5) Deputy Ring – the need for immediate payment of moneys due to farmers under the farm improvement grants scheme; (6) Deputy Healy – the need to announce a promised decentralisation package for south Tipperary; (7) Deputy Perry – the need for an extension at St. Edward's national school, Ballytivnan, Sligo; (8) Deputy Deenihan – the closure of the Tralee beef and lamb factory with the loss of 80 jobs and the outstanding payments of £2 million owed to local farmers and the need for immediate Government intervention; (9) Deputy Deasy – the need to provide speech and language therapists for schools which cater for special needs; (10) Deputy Coveney – the legalisation of cannabis for medical purposes; (11) Deputy Kirk – the package of measures planned for farmers in the Cooley Penninsula, County Louth, in the wake of the foot and mouth disease crisis.

The matters raised by Deputies Broughan, Deenihan, Kirk and Healy have been selected for discussion.
