Independent Garda Ombudsman Bill, 2001: First Stage.

Mr. Howlin:

I move:

"That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to establish an office to be known as Ombudsman Neamhspleách an Gharda or in the English language, the Independent Garda Ombudsman, to repeal the Garda Síochána (Complaints) Act, 1986, and to provide for related matters."
