195 Mr. Power asked the Minister for Defence when he intends to introduce legislation following the report of the interdepartmental task force on the future development of the Curragh; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23337/01]

Minister for Defence (Mr. M. Smith):

The new legislation for the Curragh is being prepared and it is hoped to have heads of a Bill submitted for Government approval in the near future. It is envisaged that the legislation will be introduced in the Dáil in the first half of 2002.
