Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Deasy – the unemployment problem that exists in west Waterford due to the closure of the Cadena Cigar factory in Tallow with a loss of 68 jobs; (2) Deputy Seán Ryan – the proposed purchase of helicopters for the Air Corps; (3) Deputy John Bruton – the lack of availability of speech therapists and the problems which arise regarding the co-ordination of their work, training and availability; (4) Deputy Ring – the need for immediate payment of moneys due to farmers under the farm improvement grants scheme; (5) Deputy Perry – the need for an extension at St. Edward's National School, Ballytivnan, Sligo; (6) Deputy O'Shea – the need to set up a task force to find alternative employment for Tallow, County Waterford, following the announcement of the closure of Cadena; and (7) Deputy Brian Hayes – the provision of central heating in all homes under the control of local authorities.

The matters raised by Deputies Deasy, O'Shea, Perry, John Bruton and Brian Hayes have been selected for discussion.
