Vol. 542 No. 5

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Pádraic McCormack

Question:

452 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding the provision of an extension to St. James National School, Busypark, Galway; when the extension will be sanctioned; when work on this project will commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25001/01]

My Department has received an application for grant aid towards the cost of a building project at St. James' National School, Bushypark, Galway. The Deputy will appreciate that there has been a massive and unprecedented increase in the funds allocated by this Government to the schools building programme at all levels. Decisions relating to the rate of progress to construction of projects, including St. James' National School, will be taken in the light of the allocations to be made for school building purposes in the forthcoming Estimates.
