Question:

276 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to a number of students who received upgrades in their leaving certificate which qualify them for a place on the dentistry degree course in Trinity College, Dublin, but who have been refused entry due to inadequate facilities to accommodate them; if he will take immediate steps to ensure that funding is provided to Trinity College, Dublin, in order that the necessary accommodation can be provided for these students; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Following discussions between my Department, the Higher Education Authority and Trinity College, Dublin, I understand that offers are issuing to the students in question for the current academic year.
