Vol. 543 No. 1

Written Answers. - Nuclear Plants.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

113 Mr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if her attention has been drawn to a report (details supplied) regarding Sellafield; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [25844/01]

I am aware of media coverage about a report commissioned by a European Parliament committee in regard to radioactive pollution from the nuclear fuel reprocessing plants at Sellafield and Cap La Hague.

I understand this report has not yet been published. My Department has procured a copy of the report in the past 24 hours and in advance of its publication and in conjunction with the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland, is examining it urgently.
