Vol. 543 No. 1

Written Answers. - Care of the Elderly.

Bernard Allen

Question:

197 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of elderly people who have made an application for help to the Southern Health Board for grants under the housing aid for the elderly scheme and who cannot be dealt with. [25825/01]

As the Deputy is aware, the housing aid scheme for the elderly is operated in the Southern Health Board area by the health board on behalf of the Department of Environment and Local Government.

I have asked the chief executive of the board to have the information requested by the Deputy compiled and forwarded to him as a matter of urgency.
