Question:

216 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will allow a person (details supplied) in County Kildare remain here to complete his studies; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25828/01]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to him on 11 October last in relation to this matter. I am informed that the legal proceedings in this case have since been struck out by the High Court on 24 October 2001. The deportation order in respect of the person referred to by the Deputy is valid.
