Vol. 543 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tax Rebates.

Enda Kenny

Question:

315 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Finance if a tax rebate was made to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26313/01]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that, in view of the length of time that has elapsed, the inspector of taxes does not have enough information on record to determine whether a tax rebate was made to the taxpayer in respect of the deduction from his retirement gratuity in 1984 for the spouses and children's pension scheme. Claims for repayment of tax must be made within ten years of the year of assessment to which each claim relates.
