Vol. 543 No. 2

Written Answers. - Medical Cards.

Bernard Allen

Question:

335 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will investigate the refusal by the Southern Health Board to provide a medical card to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [25883/01]

The issue of the determination of the eligibility of persons for medical cards is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board. Accordingly, I have referred this case to the chief executive officer of the Southern Health Board and asked that he investigate the matter and respond to the Deputy directly when his investigation is complete.
