Written Answers. - Doctor-on-Call Scheme.

Johnny Brady

Question:

342 Mr. J. Brady asked the Minister for Health and Children the funding which has been provided for the doctor on call scheme in the North-Eastern Health Board area to date; if there will be an annual cost involved in running this scheme from his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25979/01]

To date my Department has provided funding in the region of £2.25 million for the doctor-on-call scheme in the North-Eastern Health Board. There will be ongoing costs involved in the implementation of the co-operative and this issue will be addressed in the Estimates process.
