*The Eastern Regional Health Authority have indicated that in all cases general practitioners were written to and informed of the relevant batch numbers of the oral polio vaccines which were administered after the expiry date. General practitioners were advised to check their records and identify and revaccinate any children as required.
The other health boards have indicated that general practitioners have been asked to submit details to the boards in relation to the number of children revaccinated in order to update these figures on an ongoing basis. The number of children revaccinated are the most recent figures advised by general practitioners and not necessarily the total number actually revaccinated.
