Vol. 543 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tobacco Control Agency.

Michael Ring

Question:

461 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if one agency will deal with authorised officers in the context of the Public Health (Tobacco) Bill, 2001. [26985/01]

The Public Health (Tobacco) Bill, 2001, provides for the appointment by the chief executive officer of a health board or by the chief executive of the Tobacco Control Agency of authorised officers for the purposes of the Act. This will facilitate the prompt authorisation of officers for the purpose of enforcement of tobacco control legislation.
